And the winner is ....

After the official judging, the top three oils from the Fleurieu Peninsula Fiesta Olive Awards were offered as blind tastings for the “Punters’ Pick”, a people’s choice award at the Willunga Farmers Market and the McLaren Vale Olive Grove during Fiesta!

Visitors to the Farmers Market and the Olive Grove were asked to taste the oils and rate them in order of preference. The oil that accumulated the most points was deemed the Punter’s Pick.

The winning oil was described by the official judges as a riper style showing ripe apple and sweet almond aromas with persistent rich sweet buttery flavours.

Punters described the oil as – clean and fresh, fruity, creamy and round, light and refreshing.
